Грай же, коханий, благаю!

This film explores the evolution of human communication through the complete life cycle of the telegraph. Beginning with Claude Chappe’s mechanical semaphore system in France, it traces the transition to Samuel Morse’s electric telegraph and the vast communication networks later built and consolidated by Western Union. Along the way, it examines how these systems reshaped commerce, governance, warfare, and everyday human connection.

Using the Adhishthana principles as an analytical framework, the documentary studies how communication technologies emerge, expand, reach structural peaks, and eventually decline. Woven into this historical analysis is a subtle metaphor drawn from The Forest Song by Lesya Ukrainka, reflecting on how changes in technology may also alter the depth and nature of human expression.
